Applying Theory To My Video

My video follows a linear structure as it follows Toderov's theory fully and doesn't not stray from the standard established equilibrium, disruptions, recognition, attempt to repair and then a new equilibrium. This is because I’ve chosen to apply it as if i complicated the narrative, it would confuse the audience and the story would not be portrayed correctly. The main conflict is that the caged cult is angered by the fact that the girl has abstained from their beliefs and does not want to accept them, basically. I plan to reveal the theme, by having parallel cuts between the two groups, and they will juxtapose each other in both clothes and in cuts. Audience positioning is also strongly involved as they will see the story, predominantly, from the girls view. However there will be sections that are not. The performance and narrative will be completely different - however there will be motifs and motivated cuts between the performance and narrative. the narrative range will be restricted as i want to leave this video as open ended and interesting as possible to be able to allow people to come back and re enjoy it.  Because I have chosen to make the video with a restricted view, this will enable my audience to enjoy the video and bask in the music multiple times.

In the following videos, narrative is separate from the performance.

BAND

Charlie Cooper - Singer / Guitarist 

I chose Charlie to be the guitarist as he looks like most singers in this genre - tall skinny and yeah, he looks like the typical audience for the metal he listens to.

I also decided to have him as a guitarist as a matter or convenience, for he as a sexy guitar and he knows how to play it.

Geroje  Mihalopolous - Drums

I chose Geroje to be the Drummer as not only does he look the part, but he actually plays drums! YAY

He also looks like someone who listens to extreme metal.

Harry Morrish - Guitarist 

I have chosen Harry because, he also has a sexy guitar and he knows how to play it. 

He also looks like a traditional heavy metal listener. 

Luke Akposhoro - Bassist

I chose Luke to be the bassist as to subvert from traditional bands, and have a black guy in my band. Luke has no idea what hes doing when it comes to bass - I actually don't know how we're gunna pull this off. 

Other than being black, he fits into every stereotype of  metal. He also listens to rap, so is the key to the secondary target audience. 

STORY LINE

Lottie Smith - Elsa

I have chosen Lottie to be my female role as I believe she can portray the role well. She also has long (currently blonde) hair and my target audience will be appealed to this, mainly becasue of the female gaze theory, I however, have chosen to not sexualize her much as I want to focus my video on getting the emotion of the song out.

Ryan O'Halloran - Not Elsa

I've chosen Ryan as I feel he will be able to portray the charters in the way that is most appropriate. 

Elliot Scott - Not Elsa

I've chosen Elliot as he is the taller of my friends and because of this he will be able to look more menacing than the other members.

Scott Turner  - Fire guy

I've chosen to include fire and ice as a motif in my video. As it happens, Scott has actually got fire pole things which he can swing around and looks super cool.

I will also be using the band member as extra elope for my story line.
