I took the original image of Charlie focusing on his eye as it is a deep symbolism point in metal.
I decided to combine his eye with this image of silhouetted trees with the sunset to ad colour and make a reference to David Bowies image.
I decided to invert the image by using a filter on photo shop. Th image didn't colour all the sections of his face due to lighting changing the colours and gradients.
As a result, there was a skin coloured outline so i simply used the eraser tool.
When I overlapped the image, i had to reduce the opacity to allow it to blend in and not look like two images simply layered on top of each other. I also used the rubber tool to erase the darker sections from the lighting image to allow the images to merge fluently.
Here is how I reduced the opacity.
I then had to add the logo. This is one example of the logo on the image. I didn't really like it as the outline was incredibly bright.
This logo however has a 3D, gradient effect, which was really interesting and I feel has mroe of a metal and violent feel.
I asked my target audience what they felt about the design and some people said to have something in the sky to draw attention to the center of the image instead of having an unbalanced and unorganized image.
This album uses a lot of colour, with high contrast. The image has been reflected, rotated and put though a negative filter and have added lighting bolts and super colour. Also triangles.
Chelsea Grin
This image shows 3 faces cleverly layered to create one face. The black and grey feathers represent lost innocence as its a corruption of white feathers, which usually connote innocence and purity. The snake tongues on either side of the main face represent the snake from the bible, and the blood coming from the central face is gripping and controversial.
So a major part of a metal band is their logo. Each sub genre of metal has distinctive title and individual features.
This logo is very black metal and mega death metal as it has a lot of 'drips' on the letter and has more symbols than letters.
This image would be more fitting towards heavy metal that focuses on acoustics, such as Godsmack as they are more personal.
This logo is the simplified version of the previous logo, this makes t sharper and more aggressive and would be more suitable for grunge metal.
This logo is really interesting as it has lots of extra line to make t more aggressive and seem more powerful. I would suggest this font is for Djent or metalcore bands.
This logo is really interesting as it is the more blurred and more violent version of the previous logo and would be more fitting for hardcore death metal.
I have chosen this song because, not only is a good song, but it is very controversial. This song is the metal core version of the very popular 'let it go'. This reference to pop culture is based on Andrew Goodwinds theory. I felt that referencing a theory in my course work would help me get people interested in my project and more willing to help.
Difficulties
I feel there will be difficulties getting people organised and willing to commit and participate. I will overcome this by filming canditily and trying to shoot all my needed footage in one 'session'.
There will be 'hardships' of getting locations, settings, and props (such as the drum kit) to sets and back.
As I am doing this by my self, I need to be on top of my workload, other wise I may fall behind and not get the grade I need.
Getting cameras in certain positions and creating shots will also be difficult as I need some really tricky high angle and low angle shots.
This band use red paint instead of the typical whites this portrays them as more aggressive as the other bands. They also have quite semtrical lines on their face which too make them seem aggressive and taller, making them more intimidating.
DIMMU BORGIR
Dimmu Borgir have gone for a white out look with blackened facial hair (similar to that of PowerWolf). This makes them very Gothic; Coupled with their costumes, it makes them fit their blacked death metal genre.
The black out around the eyes which they have gone for has allowed them to look like the undead, with hollowed out eyes. Thus portraying them as true members, instead of posers of their music.
BEHEMOTH
Behemoth choose to have a white out with a faded hollow socket around their eyes and darker facial hair. Their long, dark hair fits the music, along with the costume.
CRADLE OF FILTH
Cradle of Filth use a white out make up, with the front man wearing the darkest, more detailed black make up, and other members with other, more general details.

I think this video is creative. The shots vary from extreme close up, to long shot, to show different parts of the story and works
By using the rule of three and depth focus, we are drawn more to the book which helps the viewer focus more on the story they're trying to present.
The use of quick cuts of the story like this appeal to the audience more than just one or the other, and the filters used on the second image help create an atmosphere that the target audience would find interesting and humorous. These are two techniques I would use to appeal to my target audience.
These screenshots appeal to the target audience as the make up is conventional and the target audience tend to be intrested by guitars and by using the rule of 3, has made the shot look appealing. These are also shots I would use.
This arial shot is really appealing to my target audience as it has interesting composition and is a contrasting shot to the other extreme close ups.
The use of position matching used here is really interesting and very creative
During heavy drum sections, the shots quickly cut back and forth from them playing to the story line is really cleaver and interesting and appeals to my target audience as they would feel the energy of the drums etc.
So to be able to actually make the video I need to be able to use the song I want. Do to this I need to contact the record label and ask for permission to use it.

I've chosen 'Let It Go' as not only is it a good song, but it relates to Andrew Goodwins theory of referencing Pop culture as Frozen was - as is - very popular. My video will be different to the Betraying the Martyrs original as I don't have the time, nor budget, to create the after effects and shots that were in the video. I however, will stick to the genres conventions.
